NOTICE OF ACCOMMODATIONS TAX MEETING
The Jasper County Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Council Chambers of the Clementa C. Pinckney Government Building located at 358 3rd Avenue in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
The purpose of the meeting will be to review requests for Accommodations Tax (A-TAX) funds and make recommendations to the Jasper County Council. An organization wishing to request A-TAX funds for a tourism related program should make application to:

Recently several citizens have received phone calls from someone stating they are from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and that the person has missed jury duty and requested that the person pay money or a fine.
Please be advised this is a SCAM….
The Japer County Clerk of Court’s Office, who sends out jury summons, will never have the Sheriff’s Office call and request payment over the phone, nor will we call you and advise you that you have missed jury duty. It will be in writing.

The Town of Ridgeland and the City of Hardeeville have Municipal Judges who set bond on individuals who are arrested in those cities.
In what form can you pay bond amounts set by a judge?
You may pay bond payments with money orders which can be purchased at various locations in Ridgeland.
There are also bails bondsmen who post bail for individuals.
You can contact the Detention Center for a list of local bondsmen.
What time will bond hearings be held?
Generally, the bond court judge will hold hearings each morning:
Monday through Friday at approximately 10:00 a.m.
On the weekends, bond hearings will usually begin at approximately 10:00 a.m.
However, if there are many bond hearings to be held, the hearings may take place later.
If there are inmates in need of a bond hearing on weekend afternoons , a judge will conduct those hearings between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM
